DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the IT Coordinator, the Auditorium Manager provides expertise in audio, lighting, video, staging, and multimedia systems while coordinating logistics for theatre, music ensembles, guest speakers, graduation ceremonies, and instructional events. The Auditorium Manager is to deliver professional and technical services to teaching staff, administration, students, and community groups across all designated venues-including the auditorium, LGI room, library, and other school facilities. Work performance is to ensure high-quality event execution and reliable technical support. The Auditorium Manager will have the ability to exercise independent judgement. They may be required or directed to perform other duties as needed. Specific responsibilities may include:
- Providing technical theater assistance and/or assistance with basic use of the auditorium to district administration, staff, students, and community groups;
- Implementing lighting and sound designs for staging and producing dramatic and/or musical productions;
- Advising and assisting in the selection, installation, maintenance and operation of lighting, audio recording, videotaping equipment;
- Training and supervising student stage crew and/or district staff members in the use of auditorium equipment;
- Advising and assisting all outside groups seeking to utilize the auditorium/theater;
- Coordinating the usage of the auditorium/theater to ensure all appropriate requests can or cannot be accommodated;
- Maintaining records of auditorium/theater usage and preparing reports as required;
- Serving as a technical advisor to those using the auditorium/theater;
- Maintaining working calendar of events scheduled for various event spaces through the district facilities reservation application;
- Maintaining inventory of auditorium/theater lighting supplies, sound supplies and other equipment;
- Inspecting theater’s technical systems;
- Conferring with district administration when outside services are needed;
- Providing audio and technical support for all Board of Education events and meetings;
- Providing audio support for gyms and athletic portable sound systems;
- Providing programming and technical assistance as it pertains to athletic stadium scoreboard;
- Providing technical assistance during High School Graduation rehearsal and ceremony at the end of the school year and;
- Other duties as assigned by IT Coordinator and/or Superintendent of Schools.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Thorough knowledge of stage mechanical and electrical operations and equipment; good knowledge of computerized stage lighting, video and sound systems; good knowledge of methods and equipment used in planning and presenting live stage performances; working knowledge of basic computer skills and computer applications; ability to read a “lighting plot” and other production related drawings or plans; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, vendors, outside contractors, and the community; ability to assist in stage design and set arrangement; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to instruct and supervise the work of student production crews; good judgment; patience; tact; initiative; flexibility, and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
SALARY: $60,000-$65,000 annually, per individual terms of employment
