Job Description

Alternative Classroom Teacher, Grades 6-8

Probationary Appointment, start date 5/1/2026               

 

SALARY: Minimum $52,315.57 per WEA Contract of agreement with Masters with additional $7,500 annual stipend.

 

 

 

Job Qualifications

    

• NYS Teaching Certification           
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with students and families.
• Demonstrated knowledge of differentiated instruction and behavior management techniques
• Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring student intervention plans
• Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) preferred
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues
• Ability to supervise support staff
• Previous experience in alternative education or with at-risk students is preferred.
